Are you a small team or solo developer looking to set up automated, distributed builds of your games? This talk takes a 'ground up' approach on how to set up the DevOps hardware you need on a budget, by looking at what we've set up at Redpoint Games to efficiently build multiple plugins across desktop, mobile and console platforms for multiple Unreal Engine versions. Rather than using cloud services that incur ongoing costs, we've put together our own in-office infrastructure for doing automated builds, and it's significantly cheaper and faster than other solutions. We'll cover the networking hardware you need, getting cost-effective and time-efficient build machine hardware, and setting up fast centralized storage to support distributing your builds across all the build machines you have.
